On Pursuing Your Passion

I skipped my run last night for something way more important, a late night serenade from Katie Quick on her acoustic guitar.   There's just nothing like live music on an air mattress in your own living room.  We are thrilled to have Katie in town this week because we can demand live music at any hour of the day.  Tonight she will be performing some new and old stuff at LeStats in San Diego (come check it out!)  We were lucky enough to hear 3 of her new songs last night and I instantly loved them all.  From the first few chords, I knew these songs were destined to be heard by many, many people.  Her next album is going to be incredible.

When I think about pursuing passion and following dreams, the one person that always comes to mind is Katie.  Risking it all, she left her job as a public school teacher in Chicago to pursue her music career.  She started playing live shows and quickly developed a fan base.  Katie went on to record an album and has toured the east coast and midwest playing her self-written music.  She's even performed as far as South Africa and has received rave reviews all the way from the UK.  She's been on radio, TV and in newspapers countless times and I think her big moment is just around the corner.

On Air

Currently she is living in Nashville and working on her second album to be released in May of this year.  I think it is an incredible work of art with a completely different vibe and sound than her earlier stuff.  The messages are powerful and I can feel Katie's soul coming through this time around.  I know this album will do big things for her.  I am certain of this.

So tonight we celebrate Katie's music and her passion and all of the great things that have yet to come!

Take risks, follow your passion and don't let ANYONE stand in your way.

If you're in the San Diego area come to LeStats at 9:00 pm!
There will be 2 acts perfoming before Katie Quick.

**If you go to her website to hear a song, you should listen to "It's Too Late"  It's my favorite.  :)
