Surf City Marathon - COMPLETE!

I did it!

I finished the Surf City Marathon!
 BEFORE
looking very much like a little boy

and...
AFTER
feeling victorious!

FINISH TIME: 3:35
a completely unexpected BQ time.  :)

I would write more, but I have to soak my feet.
Check out just one of my toes.
You don't even want to see the rest.

Angela PRed and she's at the store buying ice-cream and salts for these bad boys.
She is simply the BEST.

Question: Do you race with music?
I don't and I can't imagine having music on during those 26.2.
I had a mental conversation with myself the entire time and it would have seriously interfered.

Hope you're all having a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday.  Race report to come....

Slash I canNOT race to music, I have the internal conversations as well and it would be like having too much noise! I prefer to enjoy the race and mentally kick my own ass:)

  21. BQ...BAMF.

I am so proud of you...I've never race without music but I've also never raced alone. I will be running my 26.2 alone...maybe I'll do it without music. I'd love to hear more about the conversation you had with yourself.

Congratulations to Ang, I love how much you support each other. It makes me smile all over my insides. Great job kicking asphalt to both of you...your strength individually is a testament to the strength of you two together.

  52. I saw you. Rather, I saw your tank top. I remember your tank top passing by near the finish. I assume you where in it.

I was just one of thousands standing there in space blankets so it's cool if you don't remember me.

  55. Big congrats again on your BQ awesome finishing time!
    Your poor toe!
I run with music sometimes--if I'm on a trail where it's safe (no cars) I will often use my iPod. My "tradition" for half-marathons has been to pick my iPod up from Mick at mile 7 to change things up a bit. I don't like to rely on it all the time, though.
