As you all know, I've been slightly miserable the last month and a half because I haven't been able to run with this hellish tendinitis. Well...I have finally ventured outdoors and have started running again. Slowly. But I'm still running. I am sticking to grassy areas and soft surfaces. I managed to get in 5.62 miles on primarily grass the other night with Angela. We're lucky to live so close to Balboa Park.
I am really hoping that I don't jynx myself but I am getting excited about Boston training. Angela decided she is going to buy me a personalized Jack Daniels program with e-mail support and all of that good stuff. That way it can be adjusted at any time to accomodate my progress (or lack thereof). I typically use the Runner's World plans but those get tricky if you need to adjust.
Has anyone used Jack Daniels training plans before? What was your experience like? Angela's XC coach in high school made individualized plans each week for each runner and she loved it. She was never injured and she progressed and improved rapidly.
For now, I am savoring my runs, no matter how slow or how short. I am just grateful to be running again. Off I go for a run in the grass...
