Now is your chance to leave.
|I hope you weren't eating dinner.|
Once I realized how disgusting my toe looked, I kind of felt like a bad ass for making it 17 miles. I couldn't NOT finish my 20 miler though. That marathon is right around the corner! So I did what all tough
guys girls do, and I hopped on the treadmill for the final 3 miles.
20 miles done. It was a terribly slow long run because of the blister and some plantar fascia issues. I also had only half of a GU and waited way too long to start drinking water. Both rookie mistakes, but hey, today was just about getting the miles in. That was good enough for me. A nice, long progression run can happen another time.
I've had yesterday and today entirely to myself while Ang is away at school this weekend. It was nice to have some time to just sit with myself and think. I tend to be pretty busy so I was excited about the chance to do, well, nothing. I slept in late, cuddled with the dog, watched some Grey's Anatomy (someone told me it was good again), cleaned the apartment and best of all, bought and started a brand new journal. One of my all time favorite things. I bought it from this really neat, Indian gift store right around the corner. Then I sat my butt on the couch and started writing. Thoughts just came spilling out. I don't do that enough. Who has the time? But it's so good for us. To pause. Reflect. Think ahead. Look back. And just write down anything and everything that comes to mind. I find it cathartic.
Now, I am waiting for Ang to return from her run this evening so we can stuff our faces with some Thai food from this place... the tummy is a rumblin'!
Do you ever take a complete rest day, as in, do nothing?
Any gross feet photos? Send 'em my way!
