A Vegan Dinner Extravaganza!

This past Friday night, I had the pleasure of attending the pre-opening of my favorite vegan food spot, Native Foods!  I've been to the Native Foods in L.A. (multiple locations), Orange County, and Palm Springs.  Sadly, San Diego have been deprived of Native Foods.  That is, until now!

Not only did I get to grab three of my girlfriends for a night of incredibly delicious vegan food, but it was all FREE!  Every single one of us was able to get an appetizer, entree, side dish, drink AND dessert all for free.  I seriously could not believe how much food we were served.  It was like I died and went to heaven.

Please don't judge my terrible food photography.

That is not even half of the food!

If you're in the San Diego area, be sure to check out Native Foods in Encinitas.
You will NOT be disappointed.  There are locations all over California, Chicago, Portland and a few other cities.  Check it out, even if you're not vegan/vegetarian.

I followed up the eating extravaganza with a very quiet weekend.  It was rainy in San Diego and exactly what I was craving.  I got some major R&R, did a lot of reading and watched a handful of movies.  It was the first weekend that I've really had alone time and spent more than an hour in my new apartment.  I was overdue for a weekend like this.

I ran 15 miles on Sunday and felt pretty darn good, I must say.  I was a little disappointed in myself because I had to cut two of my runs a bit short last week because I had plans and needed to be showered and ready.  I decided I need to stop overbooking myself.  As much as I enjoy dinner nights, brunch, game nights and happy hours, I think I may have to cut back just a tad during marathon training.  It's not the end of the world, and then I won't have to feel like I am slacking on my training.

P.S.  I signed up for another marathon with Kristen @ Happy Running Mama!
But that is a whole other blog post yet to be written, and I am so excited to tell you about it!

Awesome job on the 15 miles. How is your foot feeling? Hope it is good and you are spending lots of time with your foam roller. ;)

  5. The food looks great to me so don't worry about the photos! I need a couple of "down" night at home, especially when I am exercising 2 hours a day (only during training of course). I like to think of myself as an extrovert-introvert, meaning when I am out with friends I love it but I also like being home and relaxing. I have to be intentional about making time for both!

  6. I'm so glad that Encinitas finally opened. It seems like we've been waiting forever! I was fortunate to go to the pre-opening part when Palm Springs re-opened. It was a lot of fun (nothing like pigging out of awesome vegan food for free!). Now I have another reason besides my new granson to head down to San Diego!

  8. Can't believe you got all that food on the house! It looks so good! The only vegan restaurants I've been to in the Bay Area are Millenium in SF (not sure it's even still there) and Cafe Gratitude (which is also raw) in Berkeley, both were amazing! Can't wait to hear about the marathon you reg'd for :)
